Therapy
Your first appointment
Let’s get to know you.
Child clients:
During this session, we'll spend time learning about your child, including their current strengths, challenges, development, relationships, school experiences, and what has brought them to therapy. This is your opportunity to explore therapy goals and what support might be most helpful for your child and family.
Teen or adult clients:
During this session, we'll spend time learning about your current concerns, personal history, strengths, goals, and what has brought you to therapy. You may be asked to complete questionnaires as a part of this process.
How long are initial appointments?
These appointments are typically 50 minutes in duration.

We draw on the following therapies:
-
Neuroaffirming CBT explores the connections between thoughts, feelings, behaviours and our experiences of the world, while recognising that neurodivergent people may think, communicate, regulate and respond to situations differently. We work collaboratively to understand patterns that may be causing distress or getting in the way of what matters to you, while adapting CBT strategies to suit your individual needs, neurotype, strengths and ways of learning.
-
Interpersonal Therapy focuses on the relationship between your emotional wellbeing and the relationships and life changes around you. We explore areas such as communication, conflict, grief, relationship changes and social connection to help strengthen relationships and improve wellbeing.
-
CFT supports people who experience high levels of self-criticism, shame or feelings of inadequacy. It helps develop self-compassion, emotional regulation and a kinder, more supportive way of responding to yourself during difficult moments.
-
ACT focuses on building psychological flexibility and developing a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions. Rather than trying to eliminate uncomfortable experiences, we explore ways to make space for them while taking action towards the things that matter most to you.
-
Neuroaffirming Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) combines the practical skills and strategies of DBT with an understanding of neurodivergent ways of thinking, communicating, regulating and experiencing the world. Rather than focusing on changing someone to fit neurotypical expectations, neuroaffirming DBT aims to build skills that support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, relationships and self-understanding while respecting each person's neurotype. Therapy can also be adapted to suit individual communication styles, sensory needs, executive functioning differences and preferred ways of learning.
-
EMDR is a structured therapy that can help people process distressing or traumatic experiences that continue to affect them in the present. Using bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements or other forms of alternating stimulation, we work to reduce the emotional intensity associated with difficult memories and experiences.
